Plot

In the austere chambers of the High Court, British career criminal Willie Parker (Terence Stamp) makes a daring choice. He morphs into a 'supergrass', betraying his former accomplices in the underworld for his own immunity. His confession reverberates like a gunshot, turning allies into enemies and placing a bullseye on his back. To escape the inevitable retribution, Willie vanishes into the sun-dappled seclusion of southern Spain, burying his past beneath the tranquillity of his villa. But the past is relentless. After a decade of deceptive peace, it comes knocking on Willie's door in the form of two mob hitmen, the icy Braddock (Sir John Hurt) and his unpredictable offsider, Myron (Tim Roth). With precision and cold-blooded intent, they seize Willie, transforming him into a hostage on a high-stakes road trip. Their mission is perilously simple: to deliver Willie to the mob boss in Paris, crossing borders and dodging law enforcement, before executing their captive. Yet, as they journey through Spanish landscapes, their seemingly straightforward task begins to unravel. The long road to Paris becomes fraught with complications, the Spanish police hot on their trail. As Murphy's Law takes hold, the scheme teeters on the brink of chaos. The Hit (1984) is a pulsating blend of suspense and dark humour, where every twist in the road brings unforeseen danger and the past refuses to be outrun.
