The Heart of Me (2004)

In the heart of the 1930s, England's society is captured by a triangle of love and betrayal featuring two sisters and one man. Ricky Masters, a suave businessman, finds himself wedded to the socially apt Madeleine, yet his heart yearns for the 'Bohemian' charm of Dinah, Madeleine's artist sister. Ricky and Dinah's innocent admiration for each other gradually transforms into a passionate affair, a carnal dance that transcends the boundaries of an English gentleman's decorum. As the affair deepens, Dinah falls pregnant, an unexpected turn of events that forces them to reconsider their actions. Nevertheless, they resolve to keep Ricky's marriage intact, and he continues to live a double life, nurturing a son with Madeleine while cherishing his secret love for Dinah. A car accident during a 'business trip' to southern France shatters their carefully constructed facade, causing Dinah to lose her unborn daughter and revealing their affair to Madeleine. The aftermath of the accident sees Ricky, plagued by guilt, seeking to divorce Madeleine and confess his love for Dinah. However, Madeleine, a woman scorned, adamantly refuses a divorce, pushing Ricky into a whirlwind of despair and desperation. As he recovers in a hospital, he receives the painful news that Dinah, unable to bear his absence, has moved back to France. In reality, Dinah is living in London, a secret that adds a bitter twist to their already complicated tale.
