Plot

In the throbbing heart of Easter, the town of Port Talbot finds itself embroiled in a fierce struggle for survival. The town's lifeline is being strangled by the icy grip of ICU, a cold-blooded and authoritarian corporation that, like a malignant parasite, depletes Port Talbot of its resources, showing no mercy or consideration for its inhabitants. A palpable tension hangs heavy in the air, a spark waiting for the right gust of resistance to ignite into an explosive rebellion. As the town teeters on the edge of catastrophe, a clash between a company man and a suicide bomber sends shivers down the spine of Port Talbot's beach. Just when annihilation seems inevitable, a soft-spoken man emerges from the shadows where he had vanished 40 days earlier. This enigmatic figure, later revealed as the Teacher (Michael Sheen), becomes a beacon of hope and a rallying point for the brewing resistance. As the Teacher's influence permeates the town, he attracts a congregation of followers, the everyday heroes of Port Talbot, who serve as both the cast and crew of this unfolding drama. However, his rising prominence and revolutionary ideals draw the unwelcome attention of ICU. Viewing him as a formidable threat that could topple their reign, they resolve to extinguish his light at any cost. "The Gospel of Us" is a compelling and contemporary re-envisioning of the Passion story, deeply rooted in the soil of Port Talbot. It's a gripping narrative that unfolds across the town, with its brave inhabitants at the very core of the action, their resilience and unity forming the heartbeat of this remarkable tale.
