Plot

In the heart of a bustling town, Vern, an unassuming pet store owner, finds himself herding more pets than he trades. His mundane life takes an exciting turn when he receives a call from the eccentric John 'old fishface' Thomas, all the way from Australia. The far-off friend plans to bequeath a substantial fortune to their town, and Vern is selected to assist him in this charitable endeavor. Setting off on his journey via the Inter Pacific Steam Lines, Vern discovers he has hours before the ship sails. Seizing the chance, he ventures into a local nightclub to soak in the music of his beloved band. However, this seemingly innocuous detour lands him in jail for 60 days, a stark contrast from his usual quiet life. Upon his release, Vern returns home only to face the shocking news of the 'Mariluna's' tragic sinking and the loss of all onboard. To add to the chaos, it transpires his family has prematurely spent the travel insurance payout. To prevent his family from facing charges of fraud, Vern cloaks himself in shadows, hiding from the world. But this gentle pet store owner soon discovers an untamed side within him. Now, as a transformed tiger of a man, he and his friend Lanny must concoct a plan to navigate this whirlwind of predicaments. The Ghost Comes Home is a roller coaster of unexpected twists, where everyday characters face extraordinary circumstances.
