In the heart-pounding drama, THE FURNACE, a grueling African race morphs into an intense battle of faith and resilience. Mary and Matt, newlywed marathon enthusiasts, toast to their love and shared fervor for running with honeymoon tickets to Africa's most formidable footrace, The Furnace. Their anticipation is palpable as they prepare to sprint across the world's largest wildlife preserve. However, a sudden, nightmarish incident shatters their joy, leaving Mary hollow and without purpose. Once a physician in Africa, Coffin fled to America when civil unrest razed his hometown. Now, he spends his days digging graves, a grim reminder of his lost medical practice. Spotting a kindred spirit in Mary, Coffin encourages her to persist, to wrestle with her grief and regain her strength. Offering his services as a doctor and confidant, Coffin's unwavering support and rigorous training slowly rekindles Mary's will to live, and more importantly, to run.
