Plot

Immerse yourself in the rustic charm of 1970s Bankstown, NSW, Australia, a time where fast cars and fast living were the order of the day. Our protagonist, Kevin, along with his sidekick Bob, live a life of carefreeness, fuelled by booze and the thrill of cruising the western Sydney suburbs in Kevin's iconic yellow FJ Holden. Their primary pursuit? The enchantment of the opposite sex. Fortune smiles upon Kevin when he stumbles upon Anne, a charming lady who spends her days working in a bustling shopping center. A unique connection blossoms between them, brightening their mundane lives. However, their bond is tested when Kevin, under the influence of alcohol, makes a brash advance towards Anne, with Bob as an unwelcome spectator. A scandalized Anne rejects them, tossing them out of her haven. As Anne stands her ground, refusing to bow to Kevin's attempts at reconciliation, his desperation escalates, culminating in a dramatic display at a social gathering. The situation spirals out of control, with the law enforcement being summoned. Kevin manages to slip away, only to return home to a grim reality - the police are there, waiting patiently for him. The FJ Holden is a raw and riveting exploration of youthful recklessness, romance, and the harsh lessons of adulthood, set against the backdrop of a time when life was as fast as the cars people drove.
