I Kill Giants (2017)

Barbara Thorson has a ferocious imagination. The 12-year old may be socially withdrawn, but the inner world she's crafted is incredibly detailed and often terrifying. Her classmates, teachers, and family all see her as a nuisance, but her imagination is a lively place where she's made a reputation as a ferocious killer of giants. A new girl named Sophia tries to befriend Barbara, but Barbara resists. As Barbara retreats back into her dream world, Sophia continues to pursue. Coming to terms with reality means that Barbara is going to have to come to terms with her own fears. And that means learning how to trust Sophia.
