Plot

In the bustling speed-dating world of Turin, we find Guido (Filippo Timi), an ex-policeman whose luck in love seems perpetually out of reach. Unexpectedly, fate introduces him to the enigmatic Sonia (Ksenia Rappoport), a Slovenian immigrant treading the corridors of a luxurious hotel as a chambermaid. Sparks fly, and an intense romance erupts between them, leading the pair to escape the urban noise for a tranquil countryside retreat. But tranquility is short-lived as Sonia's shadowy past resurfaces, causing her reality to disintegrate and her life to alter irrevocably. As the narrative unfolds, viewers are drawn into a labyrinth of uncertainty, where answers are only revealed through a relentless sequence of twists and turns, maintaining a palpable tension until the film's climactic conclusion. With Ksenia Rappoport's award-winning performance at the 2009 Venice International Film Festival, "The Double Hour," directed by the skilled Giuseppe Capotondi, is a riveting exploration of love, secrets, and the blurred lines of reality.
