The Devil's Eye (1960)

In the cosmic theatre of life and love, the Devil finds himself afflicted with a painful sty, a sign of a celestial commotion. This unsettling event is traced back to the earth-bound purity of a 20-year-old Nordic beauty, Britt-Marie, a vicar's daughter on the verge of matrimony with her beloved Jonas. The Devil, aware that Britt-Marie's chastity could bring about a disastrous ripple effect in his realm, hatches a plan to rid himself of his ocular torment. Summoning the infamous Don Juan, who has languished in hell for 300 years, the Devil proposes a deal. Don Juan, cursed with the eternal torment of seduction without satisfaction, is to travel to earth and deflower Britt-Marie before her wedding day. In exchange, the Devil promises to alleviate his punishment. Don Juan, eager for a reprieve, accepts the deal on the condition that his loyal servant, Pablo, accompanies him. As they descend to earth, Pablo surrenders to the indulgence of earthly pleasures, while Don Juan faces an unanticipated dilemma. The task of seducing Britt-Marie proves more complex as he unexpectedly finds himself captivated by her, experiencing the unfamiliar stirrings of genuine love. Against all odds, Britt-Marie resists Don Juan's advances, and as he fumbles with unfamiliar feelings, he becomes even less appealing to her. In a twist of fate, love becomes Don Juan's downfall, ultimately leading to his return to hell. This tale is an intricate dance of virtue and vice, love and lust, woven into a comedy that spans the earthly realm and the underworld, a performance presented in three enthralling acts.
