Plot

In the shadowy underworld of Manhattan, New York, 1973, we meet Donnie DiMaggio, a low-level mafia associate with dreams no grander than making people laugh. This unassuming comic ambition is suddenly shattered when he becomes implicated in the chilling murder of Jimmy De Luca, the family's formidable underboss. Donnie finds himself tangled in a sticky web of conspiracy when Frankie Fredonna, the head of the mafia family, requests that he organize his son's eighteenth birthday party. In this world, Frankie's requests are never simple, and Donnie quickly discerns the sinister meaning behind this seemingly benign task—he's being set up to be whacked. Caught in the crosshairs of imminent death, Donnie deftly maneuvers his way up the hierarchy of the rival Vincenzo crime family, employing old scandals that unsettle Frankie's Uncle, the corrupt Priest Father Roberto Fredonna. His cunning strategy not only disrupts Frankie's plans but also places him in a favorable light with the opposing mafia crews. As the pivotal birthday party nears, Donnie continues his strategic chess game, staying one step ahead of Frankie's underhanded machinations. The tension mounts, culminating in a day of reckoning that brings a brutal climax. "The Devil Made Me Do It" is a riveting tale of survival, wits, and power in the ruthless mafia world where every move could be your last.
