Plot

In the twilight days of a dwindling logging town, the restless soul of Christian, once a troubled son now a tormented stranger, is drawn back to his ancestral home. The occasion is his father Henry's wedding, a man whose life is as intertwined with the ailing logging industry as it is with his son's turbulent past. As Christian navigates through the remnants of his faded past, he finds himself rekindling the embers of his childhood bond with Oliver, his life-long friend who now has a family of his own - the radiant Charlotte and the innocent Hedvig. Despite the comfort of familiar faces and the warmth of old friendships, Christian finds himself a stranger in his own past, unable to truly return to the home that once was. The town, seemingly frozen in time, whispers tales of buried secrets and veiled truths. As the day of the wedding arrives, draped in joy and festivity, a hidden secret, long lost in the depths of time, resurfaces. Christian, driven by a volatile spirit and a thirst for redemption, finds himself embroiled in a quest to mend the fractured pieces of the past. However, his actions, fueled by his tempestuous temperament, threaten to shatter the fragile equilibrium of the lives he had once left behind, propelling them towards a painful and life-altering climax. The Daughter is a poignant tale of love, loss, and the relentless pursuit of atonement, set against the backdrop of a town gasping for its last breaths.
