Plot

In the icy throes of the 1988 winter Olympics, Doug Dorsey, a tenacious US hockey player, collides with his destiny after a brutal match against West Germany. At the same time, the ice rink bears witness to the fall of the equally determined yet mercurial figure skater, Kate Moseley. Both athletes, each a force to be reckoned with in their respective sports, see their Olympic dreams fracture like thin ice beneath their feet. Dorsey, his hockey career sidelined by his injuries, ventures into the world of figure skating, a realm far removed from the aggression of his former sport. Meanwhile, Moseley, a prodigious talent teetering on the brink of self-destruction, can't seem to hold onto a partner. Their paths intertwine when Moseley's coach, in a daring move, recruits the battered Dorsey. The unlikely duo embarks on a grueling training regimen, spending 15 hours a day mastering the delicate dance of figure skating, their shared goal of Olympic gold fueling their determination. As the intense preparation unfolds, a romance blooms under the frosty veil of the skating rink, adding a new layer of complexity to their already challenging journey. With their dreams, hearts, and careers on the line, their final performance hangs over them like a specter. It's a make or break moment that could either shatter them or forge them into legends. The Cutting Edge is a riveting tale of resilience, love, and the relentless pursuit of glory, encapsulated in the world of ice and snow.
