In the icy throes of the 1988 winter Olympics, Doug Dorsey, a tenacious US hockey player, collides with his destiny after a brutal match against West Germany. At the same time, the ice rink bears witness to the fall of the equally determined yet mercurial figure skater, Kate Moseley.
