Plot

Set against the harrowing backdrop of the Armenian Genocide in 1915 Ottoman Empire, "The Cut" is a poignant tale of survival, loss, and an unyielding hope that illuminates the darkest times. Our protagonist, Nazaret Manoogian, is a humble family man, residing in the quaint village of Mardin. His life takes a brutal turn when he, along with other Armenian men, is deported by merciless Turkish authorities. Forced into labor and confronted by death at every turn, Nazaret clings onto life by a slender thread, thanks to a chance encounter and an act of unexpected kindness. However, the price of survival is steep - he loses his family, his ability to speak, and even his faith. But a glimmer of hope sparks in his heart one fateful night when he learns his twin daughters might have escaped the cruel jaws of death. Ignited by this revelation, Nazaret embarks on a relentless quest to reunite with his daughters. His journey takes him from the rustic confines of his village, through the sun-scorched Mesopotamian deserts to the vast, unforgiving sea, each clue bringing him closer to his children. "The Cut" is a testament to a father's love, an epic journey stretching from Asia to America, from the depths of despair to the promise of a new beginning. It's a tale that cuts deep, reminding us of the strength of the human spirit and the lengths one will go to keep the flicker of hope alive.
