Plot

In a not-so-distant future, America teeters on the precipice of another devastating economic downturn. This forms the backdrop of The Crash, a gripping tale revolving around the life of Guy Clifton (Frank Grillo), a wealthy, federally-indicted stock trader. When a looming cyber-attack threatens to bring the US stock markets to their knees, the government covertly recruits Clifton, hoping his financial acumen will be the country's saving grace. The task ahead of him is monumental. He is tasked with putting together a proficient team to manage a clandestine 'shadow stock exchange', a safeguard designed to prevent the markets from spiralling into chaos should the cyber onslaught succeed. Known for prioritizing profit over principle, Clifton initially plans to exploit his insider knowledge of the imminent disaster for personal enrichment. However, as he delves deeper into the conspiracy and uncovers the sinister group behind the attack and their hidden agenda, he is thrown into an unexpected moral quandary. For the first time, Clifton finds himself making choices not just for his own benefit, but for the welfare of his nation, choices steeped in ethics rather than monetary gain. The Crash is a pulse-pounding, world-saving thriller that takes its audience on a journey of redemption and forces them to question the security of their finances. It paints a vivid picture of a world dominated by money, and the consequential power and peril that come with it. But the question remains, how safe is your money, and for how long?
