Eddie Bennett, a quick-witted con artist, has spent the past 15 years navigating the gritty streets of New York City, mastering every trick in the book. One fateful day, a cryptic stranger presents him with an extraordinary opportunity for redemption. The offer is simple, yet bizarre: Eddie must exchange his spirit with an aging, sickly Santa Claus named Sam for three weeks, enabling Sam to spread Christmas joy one last time. Skeptical and cynical, Eddie sees redemption as a fool's pursuit and demands a million dollars for his participation. To his astonishment, the stranger conjures a million dollars out of thin air, leaving Eddie with an impossible choice between monetary wealth or a shot at salvation. Things take a turn when Eddie meets Sam's daughter, Susan, and finds himself unexpectedly falling for her. When his old cohorts discover the million-dollar deal, they want in, threatening to disrupt Sam's final night as Santa on Christmas Eve. Using his street-smart charm and cunning, Eddie must outwit his greedy friends and ensure Sam's last night of Christmas cheer goes off without a hitch. In the process, he discovers the true spirit of Christmas, seeing it not through the eyes of a hustler, but with a newfound sense of humility and love.
