The Children (2008)

As the New Year dawns, Elaine, along with her second husband Jonah, rebellious teenage daughter Casey, and their children Miranda and Paulie, embark on an unsettling journey to the secluded home of Elaine's sister Chloe. They plan a festive reunion with Chloe, her husband Robbie, and their young children, Nicky and Leah. Amidst the chill of winter and the warmth of family, a sense of discomfort begins to creep in. Casey, yearning for a missed party, and Paulie, battling a supposed travel-induced sickness, are the first to show signs of unease. As the veil of nightfall descends, a disturbing sickness appears to infiltrate their sanctuary. Nicky and Leah, innocent in their play, exhibit strange symptoms, their playful laughter replaced by unnerving silence.
