Ray Bradstone (Levesque), once the most skillful getaway driver in the criminal underworld, is now a reformed man on a mission to mend his past. His goal? To be the finest father he can to his daughter, Sally (Winter), and reconcile with his estranged wife, Lynne (Gish). Despite his sincere efforts to find legitimate employment, his former life of crime keeps pulling him back. His old crew, led by the ruthless Phillip Larue (Corrigan), tempts him with a final heist. Initially, Ray accepts, but a change of heart at the eleventh hour leaves the crew in the lurch.
In an unexpected twist, Ray trades his wheelman role for a parental one, taking on the duty of chaperoning Sally's school field trip. When the botched robbery is traced back to him, an enraged Larue pursues Ray and the school bus all the way to the bustling Museum of Natural History in New Orleans. Caught between the mayhem of a wild school trip and Larue's relentless pursuit, Ray must juggle his newfound responsibility and tackle his old demons, setting the stage for an unforgettable adventure.
