In the dusty town of Bitter Water, Dr. Bruce Merritt is lured by the cunning 'Doc' Medley, a master of poker trickery, who convinces him to part with a hefty $250 for the rights to his so-called 'medical practice'. In the midst of this charade, Doc's determined daughter, Angela, pledges to repay the unsuspecting doctor. Her plan of action? A high-stakes game of chance against her former lover, Slinger. The tables turn when she uncovers Slinger's marked deck, sparking a fiery confrontation. Misfortune strikes as Merritt stumbles upon the scene, misinterpreting Angela's disheveled state. Shamed and misunderstood, Angela absconds with the deceptive Slinger, only to become an unwilling accomplice in his audacious bank heist that leaves her wounded. Merritt, realizing his grave misjudgment about Angela, sends a messenger in pursuit. But Slinger, ever the ruthless outlaw, silences the messenger with a bullet.
