Plot

In the turbulent heart of Los Angeles, April 1992, Dark Blue unfurls its narrative as a gripping thriller set against the backdrop of mounting racial tensions. This turmoil is poised to explode following the impending acquittal of four white officers accused of assaulting black motorist Rodney King, a verdict that would ignite the infamous L.A. riots. Amidst this tempest, the LAPD's revered Special Investigations Squad (SIS) finds itself grappling with a high-stakes quadruple homicide case. At the helm is Eldon Perry, a battle-hardened detective with a reputation for his hardline tactics and volatile temperament. He finds an eager pupil in SIS newcomer Bobby Keough, whom he mentors in the harsh realities of police coercion and corruption. Their narrative is counterbalanced by the steadfast Assistant Chief Holland, a beacon of integrity in a sea of murky morality. He stands as the only force within the department courageous enough to challenge the SIS and Perry's singular brand of street "justice." Navigating the volatile neighborhoods of South Central L.A., Perry and Keough are tasked with hunting down remorseless killers, a journey that forces them to confront their inner demons. These personal battles prove to be just as ruthless, if not more, than the criminals they relentlessly pursue in the shadowed labyrinth of Los Angeles.
