Plot

In the heart of 1962 Boston, a chilling shadow descends as a brutal strangler commences a terrifying spree of murders, targeting elderly women and leaving a trail of fear and panic. The metropolitan city is paralyzed, the police forces scrambling in a desperate race against time as the assailant's victimology horrifyingly extends to younger women. In this maelstrom, law professor John S. Bottomly is thrust into leadership, appointed by the state attorney general to helm a multi-jurisdictional task force with one objective: to apprehend the perpetrator. Despite feeling woefully out of his depth, Bottomly and his team uncover two tantalizing leads. On one hand, there's Dianne Cluny, a survivor of a horrific strangling, and on the other, there's Albert DeSalvo - a man detained for an unrelated crime, yet bearing an injury eerily identical to one inflicted by Cluny on her assailant. DeSalvo, diagnosed with potential dissociative identity disorder and institutionalized, appears outwardly decent. Yet, Bottomly finds himself compelled to explore the enigmatic depths of DeSalvo's psyche to determine if this seemingly ordinary man could indeed be the elusive strangler. Exploring the investigation through the eyes of the detectives, this film is a haunting voyage into the heart of a true crime story. As the detectives navigate a labyrinth of clues, the Boston Strangler emerges as more than a character, but a chilling embodiment of terror. The quest for truth becomes a dangerous game that could permanently scar DeSalvo's psyche, even as the question lingers: is he truly the Boston Strangler, or just an innocent man caught in the crossfire?
