The Black Room (1982)

In the heart of the city lies a room veiled in mystery, recently vacated under the chilling circumstances of its previous occupant's untimely demise. This enigmatic space is offered for rent by its seemingly benign sibling landlords, and soon catches the eye of a man in search of an apartment. Despite having a loving wife and a comfortable home to retire to each night, he is drawn to this room, promptly securing it with his first month's rent. As the days pass, the man begins to immerse himself in this peculiar space, his fascination growing into a strange obsession. He relates to his wife vivid tales of sensual fantasies, of encounters with different women within the confines of his new apartment. Initially, she humors him, playing along with his fanciful tales, her curiosity piqued and her patience tested. However, as the line between reality and fantasy begins to blur, she soon realizes that her husband's stories hold a darker truth. Plunging herself into a maze of unsolved mysteries and unsettling revelations, she embarks on a daring investigation. What she uncovers in her quest for truth, promises to be far more than what she had bargained for, raising questions about the room's disturbing past, her husband's unsettling obsession, and the true nature of the fantasies he indulged in his new-found sanctuary.
