Plot

In the harsh and lawless landscapes of Texas, Jonathan Corbett emerges as a beacon of justice. This fearless gunman has earned his reputation by single-handedly extinguishing the bandits that once plagued the region. His skills and fame have not gone unnoticed, leading to a proposition that could elevate his status from gunman to United States Senator. All he needs to do is endorse the expansion of a new railway line, a seemingly simple task that soon intertwines with a mission of vengeance. Corbett, a former sheriff, casino owner, and now a bounty hunter with political aspirations, becomes entangled in a complex web spun by a railway tycoon. In exchange for campaign support, he is tasked with hunting down Cuchillo, a Mexican accused of the unthinkable crime of rape and murder of a young girl. What follows is an exhaustive and relentless manhunt through the rugged terrains of the Wild West. The pursuit gradually unravels the enigmatic character of Cuchillo, a man as cunning as he is enigmatic. Yet, beneath the layers of his Machiavellian nature, Corbett discovers an unexpected moral code. As Corbett trails his elusive prey, he begins to question the guilt of the accused. He uncovers a twist in the tale that casts a shadow over the very crime for which Cuchillo stands accused. The Big Gundown is a captivating journey of pursuit and discovery, where the line between the hunter and the hunted blurs, and justice hangs in the balance.
