In the parched expanse of the California desert, miles away from the nearest hint of civilization, the Kelley family grapples with the harsh realities of life on a faltering date farm. Allan, the headstrong patriarch, harbors a mute, imposing figure known simply as "Him," offering shelter and sustenance in return for help with the grueling farm work. His decision strains his already tenuous relationship with his wife, Carol, bringing her to the edge of her endurance. Their daughter, Sandra, seeks solace in the arms of her boyfriend, Larry, a temporary refuge from her parents' constant squabbles. This fragile equilibrium is shattered one afternoon when an uncanny object whirrs past overhead, disappearing into the unforgiving desert landscape. In its wake, an eerie transformation begins to unfold. The family's once loyal dog inexplicably turns on Carol, and "Him" starts to exhibit an ominous change in demeanor. The desert's docile creatures adopt a newfound aggression, their eyes gleaming with a chilling, alien intelligence. The terror truly begins when it becomes apparent that an alien spacecraft has made Earth its new home, its occupant reaching out with an insidious psychic grasp. Taking control of both human minds and animal instincts alike, the alien entity orchestrates a reign of fear, seeing through the eyes of its unwilling puppets. A wave of unprovoked attacks ensues, the once peaceful desert now a stage for a terrifying battle for survival against the beast with a million eyes.
