Plot

In the rugged terrain of Arizona, quick-thinking Laramie Nelson, played by Buster Crabbe, narrowly escapes a grim fate—being hanged on false horse-stealing accusations. A sudden, fortuitous shift of his horse disrupts his executioners, affording Laramie a chance to flee. His flight from injustice leads him to another potential victim of misguided vigilante justice—"Honest" Tracks Williams, portrayed by Raymond Hatton. Accused of a seemingly endless list of petty crimes, Tracks is on the brink of hanging. Laramie intervenes, saving Tracks and creating an unlikely duo navigating the lawless Arizona wilderness. The pair venture into a small town, where they cross paths with the influential attorney Monroe Adams, played by Grant Withers, and his client Harriet Lindsay, the affluent owner of the Spanish Peaks ranch, brought to life by Marsha Hunt. Harriet and Adams are on a mission to prevent Harriet's younger sister, innocent Lenta, from marrying the timid Alonzo "Lonesome" Mulhall, a role filled with charm by Johnny Downs. Their mission is successful, resulting in Alonzo and Tracks being jailed—in Alonzo's case, for his impulsive attempt to express his frustration through gunfire. The ever-resourceful Tracks, however, offers to arrange an elopement for Alonzo once they've regained their freedom. Capitalizing on the distracting chaos of a Fourth of July celebration, Laramie ingeniously orchestrates a cattle stampede through the town—an unorthodox jailbreak that liberates Tracks and Alonzo ahead of schedule. The three fugitives find refuge at Harriet's ranch, with Laramie and Tracks posing as ranch hands while Alonzo remains hidden. However, the tranquility is short-lived. Laramie uncovers a sinister plot by his new employer's attorney, Adams, and the ranch foreman Luke Arledge, masterfully played by Don Rowan. They're conspiring to rustle Harriet's prized herd of horses, igniting a new challenge for Laramie and Tracks. The Arizona Raiders thus evolves into a thrilling narrative of suspense, camaraderie, and a quest for justice in the untamed heart of the Wild West.
