Plot

In the shadowed corners of Rochester, a horrific crime shatters the innocence of the city: a young girl is kidnapped, violated, and brutally killed. The case lands in the hands of relentless Detective Megan Paige, who is driven to the brink of obsession, her waking hours consumed by the chilling investigation. As she delves deeper, the divide between reality and illusion blurs, as echoes of the dead child begin to haunt her. The FBI sketches a portrait of the perpetrator as a unpredictable wanderer, slipping through the cracks of justice by sheer luck. However, Megan's intuition tells her otherwise. She sees a meticulous architect of horror, a local predator lurking in plain sight. Her theory takes root when she uncovers a chilling pattern: the victim’s first and last names, and the location of her lifeless body, all begin with the letter "C." Just as Megan begins to feel vindicated, a second murder mimics the initial pattern, sending a ripple of dread through the city. Yet, Megan's personal demons wage war on her sanity, her obsession becoming her downfall, hindering her pursuit of the killer. With her mental health teetering on the edge, she seeks solace and stability in medication, therapy, and the comfort of a friend. As the Alphabet Killer continues his terrifying spree, the question lingers: can Megan regain her balance, conquer her inner turmoil, and bring the ruthless murderer to justice?
