James Glaisher belongs to one of the earliest generations of modern meteorologists, and he's eager to make the sort of discovery that will change the whole science. Fortunately, new scientific innovations have made discoveries more achievable than ever before. James enlists the help of Amelia Rennes — a gifted but thrill-seeking hot air balloon pilot — in his quest to get higher to the heavens than a balloon ever has. What they discover would be an incredible find for the 1860s, but they'll find themselves finding increasingly greater natural challenges and physical dangers as they ascend higher and higher into the atmosphere.
