Plot

Lost within the fluid fabric of space-time, renowned poet Jean Cocteau finds himself adrift, leaping between epochs and moments in the life of the enigmatic Professor Langevin. The professor, an inventor of bullets that outrun light, uses one such bullet to kill Cocteau, only for the poet to be reborn, straddling the line between the fantastical and the real. In the heart of a gypsy settlement, a woman retrieves a photograph from the cusp of destruction and breathes life back into it. Cocteau discovers the face of Cégeste from his film Orphée in the restored image. He fragments the photo, casting it into the sea, which, in turn, spews forth Cégeste himself. The resurrected character draws Cocteau into a surreal tribunal, headed by Heurtebise and The Princess, both familiar figures from Orphée. Cocteau confesses to his relentless pursuit of trespassing into a realm not meant for mankind, an ethereal world that transcends human boundaries. His insubordination, he confesses, is akin to a sacred ritual. The commission, in response, bestows upon him the eternal sentence of life. Within the stone skeleton of a once grand hall, the goddess Athena impales Cocteau with her spear. His companions gather around his fallen body, but death doesn't hold him; he rises and resumes his journey along a narrow path. Suddenly, Cégeste reappears from within a rock, pulling Cocteau into its depths, a poignant reminder that they are but transient residents in the realm of earthly existence.
