In the secluded confines of the enigmatic Hallorann Laboratory, the financially strained waitress Anna finds herself entwined with a motley crew of college students. They are participating in a clinical trial led by the mysterious Dr. Jerrems, all lured by the promise of a hefty paycheck. The experimental drug is administered to half of the group, the others receiving a harmless placebo. But within this unpredictable cocktail of science and human lives, something unexpected stirs. Anna, alongside Den, Kristen, and Marcus, soon becomes ensnared in a chilling side effect of the drug.
