Plot

In a world teetering on the border of biology and technology, bio-geneticist Rosetta Stone employs her own DNA to engineer a trio of Self Replicating Automatons - Ruby, Olive, and Marine. These part-human, part-computer creations serve as dream-fulfilling 'portals' on the vast sea of the Internet. Yet, they crave the touch of humans for their survival, and more specifically, the Y chromosome found in male sperm, thanks to their mono-gendered genetic makeup. Ruby, the most adventurous of the trio, is fed a steady diet of seductive movie scenes, which she confuses for reality due to her inability to distinguish dreams from the real world. She embarks on a series of real-life encounters with men, sharing her gains with her cybernetic sisters. However, strange symptoms like impotence and inexplicable rashes start to plague the men she interacts with. Enter Agent Edward Hopper, an FBI agent dispatched to untangle this alarming mystery, who quickly finds himself enlisting the aid of a private cyber detective. As the men regain their health, Ruby unexpectedly experiences the stirrings of love and conceives a child with Sandy, a worker in a xerox shop. Teknolust paints a vivid picture of a world where sex is no longer a necessity for reproduction, people exist through transient identities and virtual selves, and amidst the rapidly evolving dynamics, love remains the only tangible reality. The characters grapple with their feelings in this brave new world, as they try to navigate a landscape where the lines between the real and the cybernetic blur.
