In the heart of middle-class India resides Dinanath, a stern yet loving retired schoolteacher and widower. His household consists of his three sons: Shankar, a music teacher; Ram, a court clerk; and Kanhaiya, a salesman, along with their wives and children. Dinanath's rigidly run household functions on an old-school system, where even the adults are not spared from his comical disciplinary measures. The three sons dutifully surrender their monthly earnings to their father, who manages their family finances with a firm hand. This conventional family setting transforms dramatically when the glamorous movie star, Sheela Devi, becomes their new neighbor. Captivated by her charm and fame, the wives - Parvati, Sita, and Radha - decide to invite her over. Filled with anticipation, they embark on a mission to impress the actress, which includes borrowing money, renovating their humble abode, acquiring new furniture, and even learning English. However, unbeknownst to them, their husbands are also smitten by the enchanting actress. Each harboring a secret desire to woo the star, they tread their own clandestine path. The narrative unfolds with a blend of humor and drama, as the family's tranquil life spins into a whirlwind of excitement and chaos in their quest to impress the illustrious Sheela Devi.
