Immersed in the gritty, pulsating heartbeat of 1980s Hamburg, we meet ALEX, a taxi driver. Amidst the cacophony of smoke-filled pubs and the relentless bickering of the city's inhabitants, Alex yearns for love and liberation. She finds fleeting solace in the arms of DIETRICH—an affair devoid of love, yet satisfactory in its physical intimacy. However, her heart gets stolen by MARC, a man of short stature, whose towering dignity offers her an emotional depth unknown before. Her life is a perpetual dance with her diverse passengers—indifferent, desolate, brutish, and simply irritating. This cyclical existence could continue indefinitely, leading Alex to inadvertently lose Marc while failing to sever ties with Dietrich. But a glimmer of hope appears in the form of a tiny monkey, mirroring her relentless pursuit of freedom. The narrative follows Alex as she navigates her way through this complex maze of relationships and emotions, driving not just her taxi, but also steering her life towards the liberty she so fervently desires.
