Plot

In the verdant depths of South America, Tarzan answers the desperate call of an old friend, a professor who suspects an ancient cult, known as the Jaguar Men, are exploiting the local natives. Leaving behind the familiar plains of Africa, Tarzan, alongside his faithful companions Cheetah and the pet lion Baron, journey up the winding veins of the Amazon River in response to this perilous summons. Upon these mighty waters, Tarzan encounters Captain Sam Bishop and his young ward Pepe, both of whom become valuable allies in the unfolding drama. Their paths cross with the courageous Dr. Ann Phillips, who, despite the destruction of her jungle hospital, remains unwavering in her mission to protect the superstitious natives from a looming epidemic. The Jaguar Men, however, remain a relentless threat, their murderous intent fueled by the intrusion of the outsiders. As the plot thickens, the locals are imbued with newfound hope when Pepe, the riverboat captain’s helper, steps forward to receive the first vaccination. Together, this unlikely band of heroes must navigate the treacherous jungle, confront the menacing Jaguar Men and their enigmatic leader Barcuna. Their ultimate goal: to liberate the natives from the chains of enslavement and shield them from the shadow of disease. 'Tarzan and the Great River' is a tale of courage against daunting odds, set against the backdrop of the lush Amazonian wilderness.
