Once a hopeful starlet, Chance Wayne, now a charismatic gigolo, finds himself back in his quaint hometown after a failed stint in the glitzy allure of Hollywood. His return isn't a solo affair; at his side is Alexandra Del Lago, a once-glamorous film star now caught in the cruel ebb of her fame. With dreams of the silver screen still dancing in his eyes, Chance seeks Alexandra's assistance for a screen test, hoping to salvage his shattered dreams. But home isn't just about unfulfilled aspirations. It's also where his heart lies, in the form of his former flame, Heavenly Finley. He's still hopelessly drawn to her, despite the passage of time and the shadow of his past mistakes. Yet, Heavenly is not unattached - she is the daughter of the cunning local politician, Tom 'Boss' Finley, and the sister to a brutish brother who harbors nothing but loathing for Chance. Both men had played significant roles in Chance's forced departure from town all those years ago. As Alexandra's star fades further and she eventually exits the town, Chance finds himself marooned amidst old grudges and simmering conflicts. With his Hollywood dreams derailed and his past love within but beyond reach, Chance is ensnared in a web of trouble, leaving him to grapple with the bitter fruits of his youthful desires.
