Escaping the chilling confines of an insane asylum, Jerry Blake (Terry O'Quinn) emerges from the shadows and into a new town, seamlessly slipping into the persona of a marriage counselor. With a chameleon-like ability to adapt, he charms his way into the troubled heart of a patient, the radiant yet vulnerable Meg Foster, and her impressionable young son, Jonathan Brandis. Enveloped in the warmth of their adoration, Jerry believes he's found the idyllic future wife and loving stepson he covets. His dreams of a perfect family life seem within grasp, but life is rarely that simple. A host of individuals, suspicious and protective, stand in his path to matrimonial bliss. Their interference is a thorn in his side, threatening to unravel his carefully constructed façade. Driven by a desperate need for normalcy, Jerry embarks on a chilling mission. One by one, he methodically starts to eliminate any obstacles that stand in his path to the picture-perfect family he craves.
