Plot

In the tranquil ambiance of a Las Cruces, New Mexico hotel gift shop, fate orchestrates the first encounter between two insomniacs, Julia Mann and Kevin Vallick. Their mutual attraction is as undeniable as their shared passion for writing. However, the plot takes an unexpected twist when their true identities unravel at an inconvenient moment. Contrary to their initial beliefs, they both are not a television sitcom writer and a reporter, but rather speechwriters serving opposing ends of the political spectrum. Julia pens for Democrat Lloyd Wannamaker while Kevin crafts rhetoric for Republican Ray Garvin, both vying for a coveted New Mexico senate seat. As their political affiliations collide, they are faced with a compelling question: can love endure amidst the tumult of politics? Their predicament is exacerbated by Julia's relentless ex-fiancé, war correspondent Robert Freed- affectionately known as Baghdad Bob- who's on a mission to reclaim her heart. Julia's resilience is tested as she grapples with her past relationship, where she felt more like a cheerleader than a partner. Kevin, meanwhile, navigates his own complexities with the ruthless Annette, who brought him on board for Garvin's campaign. As they juggle their political commitments and personal lives, a looming scandal threatens to mar their respective campaigns. Misunderstandings about their professional and personal boundaries only add fuel to this already blazing fire. Speechless paints a vivid picture of how love, politics, and personal dilemmas can intertwine, leaving the audience pondering where their loyalties would lie under similar circumstances.
