Somebody's Hero (2012)

In the pulsating heart of New York City, Dennis Sullivan, an unassuming accountant, is tasked with the financial affairs of a wealthy widow and her young son, who is grappling with the loss of his father. In the boy's world of make-believe, a fantastical superhero steps in to offer comfort, a role which Dennis decides to bring to life in a bid to lift the child's spirits. An ordinary visit to a novelty store results in an extraordinary chain of events when Dennis finds himself donning a superhero costume just as a menacing robber threatens the store. Unveiling an unexpected bravery, Dennis, now in full costume, thwarts the assailant, his heroic act caught on candid camera. As the footage finds its way to the media, a storm of public interest is sparked, leaving New Yorkers yearning for more of the anonymous hero. Torn between the comfortable anonymity of his accountant life and the newfound thrill of being a beacon of hope, Dennis is left with a life-altering decision: to retreat to the shadows or continue his caped crusade.
