Sky Murder (1940)

Pat Evans, a German expatriate with unwavering loyalty to her adopted homeland, the United States, finds herself entangled in a dangerous web of intrigue and deceit. An eerie German bund, operating from the shadows of Long Island, endeavors to recruit her, employing the charm of the sophisticated yet lecherous Andrew Hendon. Their encounter takes an unexpected turn in the private plane of Cortland Grand, a wealthy acquaintance of famed New York detective Nick Carter, when Pat, in a desperate act of self-defense, leaves Hendon unconscious but alive in the aircraft's rear compartment.
