Bennie Chan has spent nearly a decade investigating the murder of his partner, but but the Hong Kong detective has yet to uncover the mysterious figure only known as "The Matador". While he suspects that businessman Victor Wong is responsible, he's well protected from the law. But when his own family begins to receive threats, Wong enlists the help of an American hustler and gambler to reveal Wong's wrongdoing. But bringing in help means also accepting new problems, as the American has earned the wrath of the Russian mafia. Their journey will take them all over China as they try to make things right.
