In the shadow of her late father's tarnished reputation, archaeology professor, Emma Fielding, determinedly ventures to her coastal hometown in Maine. Her father, also an archaeology professor, had lost his professional standing attempting to prove that Jamestown wasn't the first English settlement in North America. Now, armed with a map and the support of her mentor, Tony Markham, Emma is resolved to restore her father's honor and rewrite history. However, just as her excavation begins to show promise, it is marred by a chilling discovery - the freshly buried corpse of local Augie, a man who had vaguely threatened Emma the previous evening.
