Plot

In the heart of Vancouver, four distinct sibling narratives intertwine. Rory, once a minor Hollywood success, flies to Los Angeles to reconnect with his brother Justin, a rising movie star. Their once tight-knit bond is tested by Justin's newfound fame and Rory's struggle to find his footing in the world. Meanwhile, Jerry, a man grappling with schizophrenia, stands at a life crossroad. His sister, Louise, feels obligated to care for him, as he was her guardian during their childhood. Yet she yearns to voice her true feelings, a task all the more daunting given Jerry's mental health and the meddling of his new ageist lawyer, Ringo. Elsewhere, Nikki, a struggling actress, only hears from her older half-sister, Maggie, when she needs help. Yearning for a support system, Nikki contends with Henry, a dubious producer promising her the big break she craves. Simultaneously, seventeen-year-old Sarah, an only child, grapples with the strained relationship with her mother, Marion. Each feels suffocated by the other's emotional demands, a dynamic further complicated by the arrival of Sita, a thirty-something South Asian woman who might just hold the key to their missing familial harmony. "Sisters & Brothers" is a poignant tapestry of sibling relationships, exploring the bonds and rifts that shape us, and the courage it takes to redefine them. Through each story, the film brings to life the complexities of family ties, and the resilience required to navigate them.
