Embarking on an intriguing journey from England to the sunburnt landscapes of Australia, Anthony, a young and forward-thinking English minister, and his wife, Estella, find themselves on an unexpected detour. At the behest of the Bishop of Sydney, they are asked to visit the home of Norman, an eccentric and avant-garde artist renowned for his sexually charged depictions of the female form. Their mission is simple yet delicate: persuade Norman to withdraw his most controversial work, "Crucified Venus," from his upcoming exhibition. The Bishop fears the painting's raw nudity will stir public scandal. However, upon their arrival, Anthony and Estella find themselves plunged into a world far removed from their conservative norms.
