Sicario (1994)

In the throbbing heart of Caracas, Venezuela, amongst the crumbling façades of a drug-ridden neighborhood, lives Jairo (Laureano Olivares). This hardy teenager, wearied by the relentless onslaught of poverty, violence and familial turmoil, finds false solace in the murky underworld of the mafia as a cold-blooded hitman. His existence, once dominated by squalor and despair, is now submerged in a treacherous sea of blood money and death contracts. Haunted by the detrimental influences that have shaped his life, Jairo yearns for an escape. He is caught in a relentless struggle between the allure of monetary gain and the desire for a serene existence, far removed from the life-threatening hazards of his chosen occupation. His dreams, however, clash with the ruthless expectations of his mob boss, a looming figure who sees no exit from the labyrinth of crime they inhabit.
