Sibling Rivalry (1990)

In the heart of suburban monotony, Marjorie Turner, a beleaguered wife in her thirties, finds herself gasping for breath. Her existence is a constant race against her husband Harry's family, a clan of high-achieving doctors, and her ambition-less younger sister Jeanine. Marjorie's life takes a bewildering turn when, in a moment of reckless abandon, she succumbs to a transient affair with a mysterious stranger. However, their fleeting bliss tragically ends when the stranger dies in the midst of their passionate escapade in a nondescript hotel room. In a twist of fate, her forgotten wallet in the room becomes a beacon for an unsuspecting vertical-blind salesman, who stumbles upon the scene while on a routine job. Unaware of the lifeless body in the room, he trips, knocking the corpse with a bar and mistakes himself as the inadvertent murderer. In a spiral of panic and confusion, he contacts Marjorie, whose wallet he found, drawing her back into the chaotic aftermath of her ill-fated affair. As they scramble to make the scene look like a suicide, their actions inadvertently catch the attention of the salesman's brother, a policeman eyeing a promotion within the department. While navigating the labyrinth of this mysterious death, he unknowingly falls for Marjorie's best friend, further entangling their lives.
