Plot

In the eccentric sequel to "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," "Shock Treatment" whisks audiences back to the peculiar world of Brad and Janet Majors. Now married, they find themselves in the heart of their transformed hometown, Denton, which has morphed into an enormous TV station. This peculiar place is now a spectacle where the residents are either mesmerized spectators or unwitting stars in the bizarre reality show. Navigating the ruins of their romance, they are swept up in the twisted machinations of the TV station. Brad finds himself involuntarily committed to "Dentonvale," the local mental hospital cunningly masqueraded as a TV program. His incarceration is framed as a therapeutic attempt to mend their fractured marriage. Simultaneously, Janet is groomed to ascend to stardom, lured by the lure of fame and the high life. As she grows intoxicated with her newfound celebrity, she begins to drift away from Brad, her former anchor. But who is it that's orchestrating this plot, attempting to pull Janet into the limelight and away from her husband? "Shock Treatment" is a musical journey set six years after the events of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." It's a tune-laden exploration of television culture, love on the rocks, and the seductive power of fame, all wrapped up in the unmistakable style of its predecessor. As the curtain rises on Denton's TV studio, one question remains: Who seeks to woo Janet away from her hapless husband?
