Sher Shivraj (2022)

In the vibrant Adilshahi empire, Badi Begum Sahiba's joyous celebrations turn to dread as she learns her captive, Aurangzeb, has been freed by Afzal Khan, who fears the rising power of Marathi King Chatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj. Shivaji's conquests are stretching across Konkan and Javli, unsettling the Mughal dominion and indicating a potential threat to Bijapur. In response, Badi Begum summons Shahji Raje Bhosale, Shivaji's father, to her court, ordering his arrest in an attempt to control his son's steady ascent to power. Afzal Khan, a man with a history of treachery, resolves to capture Shivaji, who is already forewarned by the spies of his father, Vishwas Dighe and Bahirji Naik. As Afzal Khan embarks on his mission, Shivaji, fresh from his victory in Javli, masterminds the construction of the new fort Pratapgadh, readying himself for the impending confrontation with Afzal Khan and his vast army. Afzal Khan, a brutal giant of a man, wreaks havoc on his march towards Shivaji, desecrating places of worship, his ruthlessness echoing his past betrayal of Shahji and the murder of Shivaji's elder brother, Sambaji. Amidst the chaos, Shivaji remains patient, biding his time for Afzal Khan's misstep. However, his mother Jijabai's patience wears thin as Afzal Khan's rampage continues. In a stroke of strategic brilliance, Shivaji decides to manipulate Afzal Khan's perception of him. He feigns fear, orchestrating a meeting at the newly built Pratapgargh, all the while mindful of Afzal Khan's propensity for betrayal. As the tension escalates, the stage is set for a clash that could alter the course of the empire.
