Plot

Immersed in the vibrant hues of Little Delft, Michigan's tulip festival, the savvy reporter Henry Taggart finds himself lodging at a quaint inn managed by the whimsical Dutch patriarch, Mr. Van Maaster, and his seven enchanting daughters. Regina, the eldest and a starry-eyed drama queen, initially captures Henry's interest. However, it's Billie, along with her disguised sisters Victor, Albert, Cornelius, Peter, and George, that truly steal his heart, particularly when her melodic voice graces his ears. Despite the blossoming love between them, Billie hesitates to reciprocate Henry's feelings, constrained by a Van Maaster family rule that dictates the eldest daughter must marry first. As passion and tradition clash, Regina remains steadfast, refusing to break the age-old custom. In a delightful twist, Mr. Van Maaster follows Regina to New York, where she claims to have eloped, thereby granting Billie the freedom to wed Henry. In a picturesque scene, six couples garbed in wedding attire stand at the altar of the Little Delft church β€” Billie and Henry at the helm, and the remaining five sisters with their respective grooms, setting the stage for a heartwarming conclusion to this charming tale of love, tradition, and tulips.
