Plot

In the year 1590, the era of Tensho in Japan, the land is teetering on the brink of unification under the rule of Hideyoshi TOYOTOMI. The death of the feared warlord Nobunaga ODA leaves a power vacuum that Toyotomi aspires to fill. Amid this turbulence, a shadowy figure named TenmaOh (Mirai MORIYAMA) resists these unification efforts from his ominous fortress, DOKURO-JO, or Skull Castle. Once a loyal servant to Nobunaga, TenmaOh now commands the KANTO DOKURO-TO, a legion of warriors who shroud themselves in darkness and terrorize the Kanto region. Enter Sutenosuke (Shun OGURI), a mysterious yet valiant man who saves a woman from the relentless pursuit of the KANTO DOKURO-TO. To protect her, Sutenosuke seeks refuge in the district's brothel, where he crosses paths with MUKAIYA RANBE (Taichi SAOTOME). As if puppeteered by destiny, people from all walks of life converge in the Kanto region, their fates intertwining in a dance of danger and intrigue. When the past connection between Sutenosuke and Ranbe, and their tie to TenmaOh, comes to light, it becomes the catalyst for revealing TenmaOh's sinister ambitions. With neither fear nor regret, Sutenosuke and his band of seven souls march towards Skull Castle, a fortress teeming with 20,000 soldiers, determined to extinguish the flame of TenmaOh's dark ambition. The stage is set for a clash between the forces of light and darkness, with the fate of Japan hanging in the balance.
