Plot

In the throes of the Qing Dynasty, In-hong, a reluctant soldier, is thrust into the tumultuous battlefield of China. Amidst the chaos, he forms an unlikely bond with Bo-won and Gyeon. Carrying the weight of their shared experiences, the trio returns to a Korea that offers no livelihood. Out of desperation, they devise a cunning plan - to form a con ring with tricks as colorful as selling an everyday chicken as a phoenix, and passing off a common sword as the legendary weapon of Admiral Yi Shun-shin. As their audacious scams gain notoriety, they find themselves pursued by the law. However, undeterred, they continue their scheming from the shadows. Their audacity reaches new heights when their plan to swindle the wealthiest man in town, SUNG Dae-ryun, backfires. But In-hong, never one to admit defeat, orchestrates an even grander con. He fans the flames of a rumor that the Daedong River hides a treasure of gold, luring the unsuspecting SUNG into his snare. This intricate tale of deception and survival, "Seondal: The Man Who Sells the River," unfolds as In-hong, Bo-won, and Gyeon navigate the treacherous waters of their daring scam.
