Plot

Caught in the relentless whirlwind of a mid-life crisis and feeling a disconcerting disconnect from his family, Ben Marcus, a reality-TV editor, yearns for a path that leads him to his long-simmering dream of comedic stardom. With an ambitious heart, he shares his stand-up routines on YouTube, only to see them met with the cold slap of indifference. Just as he teeters on the brink of disillusionment, a video of Ben's misadventures in DIY home improvement, surreptitiously posted by his son, becomes an unexpected viral sensation. Despite his teenage daughter's mortification, he is thrust into the digital limelight as 'Selfie Dad.' His meteoric rise to social-media fame, crowned with awards, however, does little to quench his thirst for true fulfillment. In the midst of his newfound fame, an unexpected camaraderie blossoms with Mickey, a sprightly young coworker. Through this friendship, Ben stumbles upon the elusive secret to a harmonious family life. With his faith at one hand and his phone at the other, he embarks on a journey to reclaim his happiness, forever altering his role as the Selfie Dad.
