Plot

Once a celebrated Vegas lounge singer, Jack Satin (Hamilton von Watts) finds himself down on his luck, jobless, penniless, and clinging to illusory dreams of stardom. Driven from the glitz and glamour of Vegas, Jack takes his old Cadillac on a journey towards the beckoning lights of Atlantic City. Fate, however, has other plans, as his car breathes its last in the barren desert, leaving him marooned in the quaint town of Lost Springs. In this remote outpost, Jack crosses paths with Doc Bishop (Robert Guillaume), a mechanic with a forgotten past as a jazz maestro. Doc lends a hand in fixing Jack's car, and in the process, helps him unearth his genuine passion for music, buried beneath his pursuit of fame. Life in Lost Springs takes a romantic turn when Jack meets Lauren Wells (Melissa Joan Hart), a bartender with eyes full of dreams. With Lauren, Jack discovers an appreciative audience he always yearned for, and he begins to see the allure of life beyond the relentless chase of celebrity status. Yet, just as Jack starts to appreciate the charm of the simple town and its inhabitants, shadows from his Vegas past descend upon him, setting the stage for a hilarious clash of his past and present. In this comedic fusion of dreams and reality, Satin (2011) serves up a heartwarming journey of self-discovery at the intersection of life's unpredictable roads.
